WE did TOO MUCH!! Mrs. Miller and I were running around like crazy... we aren't used to doing this ALL BY OURSELVES!! Having no parent helpers was difficult! The kids all did GREAT, waiting patiently and helping each other with things the best that they could to help Mrs. Miller and I get it all done! We had everything finished in the morning! Each student got to: 1- make a bag of Reindeer Munch that they had to read the ingredients for 2-make 2 frosted Reindeer out of graham crackers and pretzels: 1 was for snack, 1 for the afternoon 3- make a Reindeer ornament.. this was a little challenging!! 4-make Reindeer food to feed your ReinDEER on Christmas Eve In the afternoon we had our REINDEER MUNCH, Reindeer Juice boxes that Madison's MOM spent so much time making- THANK YOU to her mom and possibly family who helped make them!! The kids LOVEDDDD them! We also had popcorn during the movie ARTHUR CHRISTMAS. We finished it early so got to play with many of our new toys that families got our classroom for Christmas! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!! Holiday GIFTS!I'm guessing that most everyone has opened their Christmas/Holiday gift from your child by now. You can bake these plates to "keep in" the color so you are able to wash them/use them... BUT I have found that when you bake them the color often fades. I prefer to buy a plate stand for them. Dollar Stores used to carry them, but I have been purchasing off from Amazon. I will include a link.

Readers GROW like BEANSTALKS!!!!
We have been growing everyday in our reading! As readers we... -DECIDE HOW TO READ -GIVE our BOOKS a SNEAK PEEK -READ MORE and MORE -READ in BIGGER SCOOPS -STOP, THINK, RETELL -KEEP TABS on COMPREHENSION: STOP and JOT When Words are TRICKY, ROLL UP YOUR SLEEVES! -Check the picture and think what would make sense? -Use what's happening in the picture -Look through the word PART by PART -Look for a WORD INSIDE a WORD -Don't GIVE UP! Try Something! -REREAD and think does is sound right? -USE Vowel TEAMS and FLIP SOUNDS -Don't just say the SOUNDS, FIGURE out MEANINGS too We wrote letters to our person/animal of choice! These will come home so you can read them in case there is a special message that you need to see! These warmed my heart for many different reasons! I hope that they do the same for you!
Your children are MAGICAL! In my crazy moments I am B L E S S E D because I have these 21 beautiful boys and girls in my life! THANK YOU for sharing your child with me and trusting me every day! I love them with all of my heart! Realistic fiction wasn't easy at first! We had to learn to that these stories could have actually occurred to people or animals in a believable setting. These stories resemble real life, and fictional characters within these stories react similarly to real people. It was hard not to WRITE... "I" and not actually mean ourselves!! We are sooooo used to writing NARRATIVES! Once we figured this out our IMAGINATIONS began to RUN WILD! We really LOVED writing SERIES STORIES about our characters! SO FUN! Some of our students would like to continue their series! Cocoa, Compositions, and Compliments... and marshmallows, whipped cream :)Our WORK!You will get to see all of this work in your child's MEMORY BOOK at the end of the year! Mrs. Miller and I work very hard to make these super special!
